A native of the Huntington area, Dr. Turner is a founding member of HIMG. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1963 from the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester, NY. Board certifications include the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Gastroenterology. Prior appointments include Chief of Medicine for St. Mary's Medical Center 1973 through 1982, President of the West Virginia State Medical Association and President of the Cabell County Medical Society. He is also serving as Governor of the WV chapter of the American College of Physicians
