Dr. Beam has been a member of HIMG since 1994. Premedical education was completed at Pennsylvania University in 1980, followed by receipt of his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA in 1984. Postgraduate training includes resident, Department of Medicine, Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA 1984-1987; Chief Resident, Department of Medicine, Albert Einstein Medical Center, 1987-1988; Staff Physician, Cardiac Care Unit, Albert Einstein Medical Center, 1988-1989; Staff Physician, Medical Intensive Care Unit, Mount Sinai-Daroff Division Hospital, 1988-1989; Clinical and Research Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, CO,1989-1992; Staff Physician, Sleep Disorders Center, National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine, Denver, CO,1992-1993. Dr. Beam is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine. He is also board certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Beam currently serves as Medical Director of the Critical Care Unit at St. Mary's Medical Center as well as Medical Director of the Sleep Laboratories at St. Mary's Hospital and Cabell Huntington Hospital.
